Abandoned device in Syria If this photo - of an abandoned device – is compared with my drawing in [86] it will be seen that the drawbar and the pot-garland are missing. [85]		Elevation of a water-lifting wheel from Syria In the lefthand drawing, it may be seen that part of the pot-garland-wheel has been removed, revealing the pot-garland. [86]		Same device as in [85] The sun and the children have spoiled an abandoned device. When it is in use every day, the farmer declares that the wheel is forty years old. This means that the wheel is old. Forty means many, as in “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves”. [87]
